George is a property specialist with great experience. Best
known for his work for developers of commercial property, he has also acted on numerous
transactions involving agricultural and high value residential properties.
He
was a legal advisor to the Country Landowners Association. From there he moved to the City
firm of Cameron Markby Hewitt, where he was a partner for 10 years from 1988. He acted
for life funds, developers and insolvency practitioners, and also led the firm’s agricultural
practice. In 1998 he moved to be a partner at Wanbroughs Willey Hargrave (now Beachcroft
LLP). There he worked on many retail and commercial developments, a number of public sector
projects and on sales of development land by private clients.
In collaboration with
the University of the West of England he designed a unique award winning training programme
for property lawyers,
the UWE Diploma in Commercial Property. In 2008 he joined Philip
Hands to develop a practice that can offer a full specialist service in property matters. <
